Re: New Fortress Website
It does have quite a few problems, but I don't mind having something else to read about fortress. It's good to see different opinions, it'd just be nice to know who these opinions belong to. If they're biased, it might not be too hard in the future to find out who they are

Re: New Fortress Website
While what sine said is a bit of an exaggeration, the content does seem rather repetitive. Why not just take any of the new ideas you have any put them on tron times?
(I do like how you have the bowl standings listed though)

Re: New Fortress Website
O by the way, I want make it clear i have nothing to do with this and i dont know who is "azteque" guy. I dont know any other argentinian around Sumo and Fortress but Gonzap. But I doubt its him.

Re: New Fortress Website
Well this lasted long, it just redirects to the arma wiki now.

Re: New Fortress Website
Well Nanu, how would you feel if you did a project to help increase the coverage of events, and then all everyone did was criticize you the whole way through then on top of that you ripped the poor guys writing apart. So I am not that surprised that he took it down, however maybe he should try to team-up with someone who can write a little more professionally.
-sidenote- I never got to see the site before it went down so I don't know if you were just nit picking or if it was truly atrocious.

Re: New Fortress Website
yea, it wasnt so bad, i would say it was an interesanting idea. some post was not good written but way better than TT ones

Re: New Fortress Website
It wasn't atrocious at all really. The aliases were somewhat bothersome, but as I said I still enjoy having something like it to read. Ideas about competition are always interesting. Shame it was taken down.

Re: New Fortress Website
I haven't seen the actual site yet, and now I can't .. but who was Compfort? As in, in-game alias.
Re: New Fortress Website
sure judging is easy, but everyone has the opportunity to make tt better...sorry for not being good enough.
Re: New Fortress Website
Part of the problem lies in how they launched. Tron Times is a community site - everyone who has asked to write for us has been able to, and the only requirement we have is that you post a draft for editing, rather than publishing immediately (although that seems to be a problem too as of late)
So to attack this community site whilst painting yourself as a hero of coherent analysis whilst using an alias opens you up to criticism, and is a throwback to the old news sites, something TT has tried to rectify.
Anyway, your site was fine, but your researchers could have done better. Your article on tagless players included 3 or 4 KORE members, and the flags were unnecessary. I don't expect everyone to speak perfect English, so some of the criticism has seemed a little harsh. TT is far from perfect, don't get me wrong on that I only just have time to edit articles, I'd love to write more of my own. Our articles have essentially become tweets, and the criticism in that aspect is quite correct.
That said, if you (Compfort.tk writers) choose not to return, Tron Times would welcome your input and analysis for sure, and I am happy to incorporate some of the favoured features (alongside some of my own planned features) in the near future should the community wish.
EDIT: well, I guess it still sorta applies.

Re: New Fortress Website
Echo nanu's sentiments & as of now loading ok
Re: New Fortress Website
There is a way to fix that, you know. Not every application or departure needs to be treated as "breaking news" and there doesn't need to be TT posts every day. Quality before quantity. It would be better to compile all joining and leaving events into one weekly or bi-weekly article.Venijn wrote:Our articles have essentially become tweets, and the criticism in that aspect is quite correct.
I like how abbreviating Tron Times as TT makes a symbol like pi, also prominent on Armagetron's default rim texture.
