Havnt seen the master server in weeks.
Topic says it all, what are you ***** doing?
Re: Havnt seen the master server in weeks.
They're all operational.
Code: Select all
$ ./bin/armagetronad-serverquery -m master1.armagetronad.net -l > /dev/null
--> Fetching master server list
--> Received 202 servers from master1.armagetronad.net:4533
$ ./bin/armagetronad-serverquery -m master2.armagetronad.net -l > /dev/null
--> Fetching master server list
--> Received 190 servers from master2.armagetronad.net:4533
$ ./bin/armagetronad-serverquery -m master3.armagetronad.net -l > /dev/null
--> Fetching master server list
--> Received 192 servers from master3.armagetronad.net:4533
$ ./bin/armagetronad-serverquery -m master4.armagetronad.net -l > /dev/null
--> Fetching master server list
--> Received 202 servers from master4.armagetronad.net:4533
$ ./bin/armagetronad-serverquery -m master5.armagetronad.net -l > /dev/null
--> Fetching master server list
--> Received 192 servers from master5.armagetronad.net:4533
Re: Havnt seen the master server in weeks.
Im gonna take a wild guess and say you are the one running them, because they havnt responded to me or anyone I know for weeks. I wouldnt have made the post if the shit worked. Perhaps you should check your firewall.
Re: Havnt seen the master server in weeks.
Im guessing your server is up whenever you remember to update your dns. and thats tron. It really doesnt matter, im not gonna check this shit for weeks, but I wanted to let you know. Make up excuses for your fuckup if you like, Im pretty unlikely to see it.
Re: Havnt seen the master server in weeks.
Sorry, we can't help if you're too stubborn to investigate issues that are obviously on your end.

Re: Havnt seen the master server in weeks.
I noticed something weird a couple days ago for an hour or so. Couldn't get a list. Other than that it has loaded for me consistently.
Re: Havnt seen the master server in weeks.
haha finally someone with a sack, I do only get an answer from the master server about once a week though. I can attach traceroutes if you like, but the ****** is there, it just wont talk to me.
Re: Havnt seen the master server in weeks.
It works fine for me, and I don't know of anyone else having a constant problem. Once in a while, yeah, but not constant. Maybe if you would just calm down 'n talk politely, you'd get a bit more help. You also haven't provided any useful information to help resolve it.

Re: Havnt seen the master server in weeks.
I get hiccups from the occasional master. It happens, we aren't exactly members of a worldwide super corporation now, are we?
Re: Havnt seen the master server in weeks.
None of my masters have any firewall rules discriminating against any ports or IPs. One of them is occasionally down for lack of resources (crappy VPS), but is automatically restarted daily. One of them had refused to start for a week or so due to a full HD lately. So yes, no master is operating anywhere near 99% uptime.That said, that is why we have several of them. Any persistent problems with all masters you are having are very likely purely on your end. I would not rule out bad karma.
It does show an unusually high number of timeouts for your current IP, though. Timeouts of the form where not a single ack packet from your client must have reached the server. Your previous IPs did fare a lot better. Trigger an IP change, maybe? If that does not improve things, attach a debug recording of a connection to master1 or master2 failing with a timestamp when it was taken.

Hahah, karma, I see what you did there. Also, changed my ip and it does seem to be working better now, must have been going through a shitty router or something.

Have you texted her to see if she's ok? Maybe she gave you an instruction you missed in between the whipping?
Re: Havnt seen the master server in weeks.
I have no clue what the **** you just said.
Re: Havnt seen the master server in weeks.
As a follow up, the problem returned, did some probing, and its one of cogents routers ******* up. Not surprised, Ive seen many online games have issues with cogent dropping packets for no reason.
EDIT: I should clarify, its only to master2 that goes through cogent from here. master1, which is in europe, works just fine.
