I wouldn't mind doing this when/if R loses.sinewav wrote:The dead air is something I am working on. Most of this comes from my lack of preparation (I've been very busy). In the future I will have more content and my play-by-play skills will get smoother. But we would definitely like people to visit, especially if you get subbed out in the middle of the game! Hop on and tell us what's going on behind the scenes (in the locker room). If your team loses against we are streaming, get on the channel and and let's talk about what happened.
Ladle streaming - are ppls interested in this?

I like the idea of having more people from different teams, and the 'locker room' behind the scenes aspect. I'd just want to try to limit just how many people you have in there talking though, or only let certain people in at times to chat rather than all at once. Eliminating the silence can be good, but only if it's filled with good commentary.
I suppose an easy way to counter this problem would be to make a locked TS channel, and only let in certain people at certain times.

Yea, Ideally, it'd be awesome having a member from each team in there. Good thing Over volunteered, cuz I giggle a lot.
Anyway this is me being really nitpicky, but a lot of the times, I never know who's talking - apart from from Liz and Sine (who sound awesome, btw). It'd be cool if once in a while, you guys referenced each other in third person or something. For instance Bob adds a cool fact, and Joe, his co-commentator, says: "interesting Idea bob, mumble mumble mumble..."

Just 2 suggestions from when I had the final on
Blue and gold score colours instead of red and green
Allow game chat to be viewable in the stream - Apart from wanting to choose who to watch themselves, the stream should be better than being in the server, less spectators in there the better. Just not sure if the chat on twitch is more preferable than in game though

Agreed, if I have both the stream and am watching in-game, I would much rather chat in real time with the spectators in the server. Just me, maybe, though?Hoax wrote:Just 2 suggestions from when I had the final on

I told epsy, but if you have even a little knowledge of cockpits you'd know this is not as easy as it sounds. Maybe he'll work on it tho idk.Hoax wrote:Just 2 suggestions from when I had the final on

This sounded contradictory- you want less spectators in the server yet I should show them chatting ingame? I chose not to do that because it clutters the screen and I'd have to do more scrolling down than I already do, while I want to focus on moving back and forth to different players. I also want to promote actually staying on the twitch channel and chatting there to attract possible new players or even tron players who were previously not interested in the fortress scene.Allow game chat to be viewable in the stream - Apart from wanting to choose who to watch themselves, the stream should be better than being in the server, less spectators in there the better. Sorry I meant chat coming from the actual players not the specs
I think Sine mentioned something Roter said (may have been ragey) but of course we couldn't see it. Just think it would be more engaging, as well as proof to non players watching that it's not just a bunch of robots playing
epsy consider yourself whipped

Yeah. When I watched the stream after ladle, the feel of the matches were quite different. Obviously it's always going to be different between when you're playing and when you're watching, but I think seeing the players' chat would make it more real and more interesting for the viewers.

If there's a way to turn off spec chat and only see players chatting, then I'd do that. Anyone know a solution?

Mute all the specs?Vogue wrote:If there's a way to turn off spec chat and only see players chatting, then I'd do that. Anyone know a solution?
Be invited to a team that uses TS to talk and doesn't use their teamchat?

Re: Ladle streaming - are ppls interested in this?
You can set SILENCE_DEFAULT 1 before you join the match, and then unsilence the players of the two active teams.Vogue wrote:If there's a way to turn off spec chat and only see players chatting, then I'd do that. Anyone know a solution?
It wouldn't be difficult to add a new option to show chat only from players on a team.
Re: Ladle streaming - are ppls interested in this?
Will that command silence everyone who comes in to spec after I unsilence the teams?

SILENCE_DEFAULT? Yes, it will.Vogue wrote:Will that command silence everyone who comes in to spec after I unsilence the teams?
Also, sorry. I accidentally edited your post Vogue (hit the edit button instead of the quote button).

Well, the simple solution for seeing the player chats (whether they're in team or not), would be to just have both teams invite, no? I know it forces you to spec, but I believe you can still see both chats. And on that fact, I'm not sure if I'd want other people to see our chat. Could serve for specs to watch their chat and figure out what they're going to do. Although it does seem like there is enough of a delay to make that futile.
And I still think the best experience (currently) is when I'm talking with spectators in real time. On twitch I have no control (which is obviously an unavoidable issue), but I can watch whomever, whenever in my own client. Easier to see some things that might have been missed otherwise. During the last stream, I saw a lot of "and player dies," without any analysis of how they died or what the person who killed them did. If I wasn't watching in-client as well, I probably would have missed out on those things.

Thanks! I'll be doing this next ladle.dlh wrote:SILENCE_DEFAULT? Yes, it will.Vogue wrote:Will that command silence everyone who comes in to spec after I unsilence the teams?
Obviously watching the game in your own client is easier, I can't show everything or catch every little move; deal with it. Sometimes people just.... die, stupidly, and there's not much to say about it.
