when your in the game(playing a round) hit escape, then go to player 1 settings, then to camera setup, and change initial camera view to in cam, or something to that effect, but you will be at a distinct disadvantage, just so you know. :o

There's also of course the "change camera view" (or something) key that you can bind in, um, I think "camera input" or whatever it's called. Then you can 'scroll' through all of them in-game.

Also, there are one or two incam-only servers. I think these are really fun, and the field is leveled since everyone is restricted to incam.

You can switch camara's by pressing c in game, but the in-cockpit camara view doesn't allow you to look around where other players are. You can with glancing, but if there are any walls between you and the other players you can't see them...

Sometimes their names (hovering over the cycle) will show through the tails.

I'd guess they're right under the text that says what their name is...

Well, not always always. Sometimes the name disappears, for whatever reason. This happens in other views as well.

That's configurable and not related specifically to the incam:
FADEOUT_NAME_DELAY (seconds, 0 is never, -1 is always)
SHOW_OWN_NAME

save this file into your texture and/or moviepack folder (rename it to dir_wall.png) and you will be able to see through the walls

Yeah Jonathan, actually I noticed that last night while perusing console input commands. What I wonder is, is that always determined client-side, or do servers determine it as well?

It's purely client-side.
