Okay, so, I set up a set up a dedicated server, and when I run it runs fine, but it doesn't show up on the server list . I have TALK_TO_MASTER set to 1.
And if that get's answered, I can't figure out how to give myself administrative privileges , so, anyone who could help, please do.

The server is making contact with the masters, but pings fail. You probably need to set up port forwarding, read this FAQ and the following one.
Regarding admin rights, how did you install the server? From one of our binary packages or from source? If you used one of our packages, it's usually as easy as adding
Sorry, I can't find good, usable info on that thing. You'll have to actually use the manual. What you need to do is to convince it to get incoming UDP packets on port 4534 to the machine that hosts the server. Maybe it has a DMZ (horrible misnomer) setting? Putting the machine as the one in the DMZ would usually work. It will also expose the machine to the naked malice of the Internet, so you better give it a good personal firewall.
I seem to recall reading something about many distributors firmwares being unreliable on those, and a model up (or down?) from your router. I'll go see if I can find the thingy that lets you flash it back to stock
OK I have the stuff that I did on my mothers router. Simply put, I used a "custom built" piece of firmware, but I'll leave that decision up to you.
Flashing the router back to stock without an option in the GUI is annoying at best. The cleanest way I have found is to flash a copy of dd-wrt and use it's upgrade interface to flash it back to the original netgear firmware. the process from dd-wrt ==> NetGear can be found here:
a) Just to be clear, those instructions are for Hexi, not Hotrod.
b) Yeah... only flash your firmware if you know what you're doing and know the risks (you may end up with a brick) and are sure it may actually improve your situation.
