Sumo/Fortress Custom Camera

Post by Ratchet »

Hey guys. I've recently been questioning a few people about their camera settings, and I see that many people just play on Custom Camera default settings. I personally think that the bike is too far at the bottom of the screen, and I feel the custom cam's default settings focus on what's in front of you rather than the bike itself. I don't much care for that, so I've made 3 custom cameras of my own, and I would like some of you (if you have the time) to see which one you think would be best for a sumo/fortress playing field. Additionally, I would appreciate it if some of you would post your recommendations, your custom camera settings, or anything of the like for me or others to try.

Here are the ones I've made; please give me feedback on how they work for you, and which you'd prefer:

All START_FOV_1 Values are 90

D'oh. Thanks Concord. I searched the Arma forums, didn't think about the wiki!

it's not irrelevant. you said you were questioning people about their choice of camera, but in reality it doesn't matter as long as it works for you, so you shouldn't question them. change it if you think it's needed, sure, but custom default is fine... hell, there are people who are in the top5 who use smartcam.

On the very rare occasion that I go into a sumo server (usually because boobert is there), I go to a custom overhead cam. My usual cam anywhere else is smartcam with a 110 FOV and custom glances, so....

ratchet: camera settings are more or less meaningless without a stated field of vision (FOV) value.
The same camera can look radically different with different FOV values.

The FOV and Screenshots have been added. And Sine, that's a good idea to add screenshots, but I must admit they don't tell the whole story. Must use the cameras to understand them in full.
