There's a difference between a community punishing a players and a clan/team punishing their own. A clan/team can't ban people from playing in the ladle, just kick them out of their own team. It sounds like you want SP to decide a community-scale punishment for clan-scale offenses, which would be far from right.
Ok, I only donate servers when asked (if your desperate enough) and don't play in Ladles, so my opinion here probably means nothing to anybody. But, No Harm To The Community? Really? It's pretty clear that just like the last time the alias thing came up, nobody wants to punish anybody or do anything about the inherent deceit in all this. Let's talk about this from a completely other perspective.

Values of the community.

Rules can never enforce a true moral code on the part of the community. To me, what really should be discussed is simple. Is what Baylife did acceptable? Not is it punishable, not is it ok, is it acceptable by the community? My understanding of the Ladle, in terms of style and what was considered to be "the standard" was simple. Play by a name and GID that you are known by, at a minimum, play by the GID that you are known by. Apparently, this was not done. I could care less if you punish these guys or not. Flex is right, this alias stuff is the "elephant in the room".
So, first you all need to come to some consensus of if what was done was acceptable or not. If it wasn't, you need to figure out how to prevent it from happening again. Even if it means that to play in a ladle you login as and @x that is registered and known.

I like that you brought up the aliases thing as the elephant in the room again, because I can agree that it is, but at the same time, I can't imagine that being what "offended" so many people in the community. I just think it's the way team Baylife went about it. All I'm saying is that those offenses were to their own teams and clans, not to the larger community.

Also, your opinions and input are as much welcome as anybody else's who is familiar with what's going on.

Public question for vov:

Obviously you're responsible for being signed up for two teams at the start of the ladle, but how aware of this were you? Was it purposeful or an accident that you didn't think to correct?

No, I just think that it's SP who have been wronged, not the community. (I mean we have, but not as badly as the clans they deceived,) so punishment should come from them.

Public answer for PokeMaster:

I did not know that i had to remove myself from pL's roster after I switched teams on ladle day. Sorry on my part.

Verbose explanation, for all the overreacting people:
I moved myself to a sub position in pL's team some days before ladle, because I didn't know if I could play at all. Then, on ladle day, I saw that the team I was on would start with 4 players if I played for them. So I switched from the incomplete team and joined Baylife (which I did have an invitation from; but I did plan to play for pL... well, for the full team :|).
Switching teams on ladle day is not forbidden as far as I know; I've seen others do it in previous ladles as well. Neither was I signed up for 2 teams (except you really think one of the smurf names was reserved for me, lol) nor did I play for 2 teams. I do not read the sh*tload of rules for that tournament because I just assume it's obvious stuff and captains are more concerned with it. So I didn't know I had to remove my name from the roster. If I had known it I would have done it (or asked someone to do it). Is this really that much of an issue? Sorry for my laziness if it is. I can only agree to Fate :P

Oh, and also, I've said that before, in short. People should maybe learn to first read the entire topic (ladle topic in this case) before asking stuff over and over.

How can I know? It's an aliased team after all. That is the real issue here. Make rules against aliased teams or whatever you need. Not my fault if the team I join has aliases. Do the names really matter that much to be so nit-picking about it? I didn't even want to be "going" to be honest ;P

We didn't decide who would be who beforehand, we just chose them when we started playing.

And again, the elephant in the room sprays some water on us all to let us know that its here.

Okay. Looks like vov didn't break any rules (though I do see leaving an incomplete team in very poor taste).

Huge problem with aliases: you can sign up people that temporarily (or even permanently) don't exist. Maybe it's time that we finally do away with them...
