Yesterday I went to see Tailor, Tinker, Soldier, Spy. Can't believe it didn't get a single Oscar (but then again, there's always a film like that...).

I do neiher like Julio or Enrique Iglesias (or their music) but the ending uses 'La Mer' so well it's astonishing. And for everyone who has paid some attention to the plot details and didn't get confused with all the names, there are at least 5 different conclusions which let you see the whole thing in a different light. Maybe that last scene would have worked with any other kind of music but something like this was the most effective choice because it contrasts the melancholic mood of the rest of the film.

(Unless you have read the book/seen the Alec Guiness version? I haven't. Neither...).

No, you can listen to that fake, no-talent hack all you want. Her music doesn't qualify as "awesome." All she ever did was rip off Kat Bjelland. The only reason Love had her short, meaningless career was because she married Kurt Cobain.
