If the vote goes to the gods, we'll decide later which ones we take first. The original submission was only for Greek gods.
I'd have added Muslim/Jewish/Christian gods, but there are so few of them :)
Hindu gods are plenty, but considering the number of Hindus around who may get offended, maybe they're not a good idea.

Edit: the NOP option, stick to numbers, is in the first poll.

I win. :) I couldn't decide between planets of our solar system and greek/roman/nordic gods, and then it hit me. The planets are already named after greek/roman/nordic gods. :)

In a runoff situation, I'm thinking you can roll planets of the solar system and greek/roman gods in together, now that I think about it. :)

I'm into biology, but I don't like them huge names for them puny microbes and virusses et cetera... So I voted for linguistic names, it would be funny to see words in a very unknown language, like Zulu or something :P

Change of rules: please now vote for both old codename polls plus the new one at

(we could use better statistics.) The current votes have been saved and from the selection of this poll, the Gods have a secure place in the finals for getting three votes, the global maximum. At least one (more if there's a draw) option from poll one and poll three each will also be on the finals.

And if one of the other options here manages to surpass the Gods, it's in, too.
