It certainly didn't look like an endorsement.

CT should try it sometime; might help get you back in the game a little. You see, sweep-boxing is just another tactic like holing or centering. People used to complain about holing the way they complain about sweep-boxing, but now pretty much everyone uses it. And it's not like there is no way to counter a sweep-box; it's not an invincible strategy.

The winner of a ladle might have used the sweepbox but how many team have used the sweepbox that haven't won?

Rhetorical question btw, the point is obvious.

We won the match you didn't use a sweepbox, not like it was the only reason you won, but I guess if we had started doing it later it might have changed things.

Nah, that was lost cause we were trying different things with lineups. We switched back to our old lineup and we were fine again.

Complaining about sweepbox is soooo 2010. :b

Right, this is exactly the point. Sweep-boxing is a simple, now common tactic. If a team refuses to use it, or doesn't take the time to disrupt it, that's their call and they must accept the outcome. There seems to be this weird stigma around sweep-boxes, like holing is Ok for some reason, but sweep-boxes go too far. I don't get it. I mean, if you want to keep playing Fortress from 2008, go right ahead. Meanwhile the rest of us will be looking forward to the innovations of 2012.

I think every tactic has its flaws, its about capitalizing on those weaknesses to win. The only consistent tactic that has no problems is staying alive, do that better than the other team and you will win 8)

2012 here we come :D

Out of curiosity: why didn't mym do a sweepbox against sp?

Them attacking us off the grind, much like we did to them last ladle, forced us to split early. Our split made it hard to set up the sweepbox. I think we used it once or twice?

I just hope ladle doesnt turn into a 24 hour tournament. Imagine both defenses surrounded by a sweepbox each. It would take forever to break, and its certainly not worth holing and losing a player. So it would be the ultimate waiting game.

But then again, there are ways to disrupt a sweepbox from being created in the first place, as INW stated. Hopefully the addition of the common use of a sweepbox can be countered with new tactics. Evolution in fortress.
