Because East and West Germany were 2 different countries o.o

Only because someone drew a line down the middle.. With such a large US community it makes sense to do something similar. But as I said, let's make a final decision and get on with it

Titanoboa is right and I don't see why this tourney should be done any other way. Deso and Sylla need to make their minds up.

Since everyone wants each country to be represented, will there no combination of countries then?

I agree with Titan.

On the countries with few players thing, I think countries with 3 or less players should be put in a pool and sorted into teams at random. 4 is enough to make it a match, you could even argue that 3 is.

I think if countries are allowed to combine and make 1 team, then a country should be allowed to be split into multiple teams.

The U.S.A. has so many players.

*Too bad if you are 3 in 4 players who won't make the team, I guess you can't play*

There are so many players who have no one but themselves playing for their country.

*Too bad if your country doesn't have enough players to make a team, I guess you can't play*

Well I guess we could have quite a few 1 and 2 man teams and extend the tournament with many pointless matches.

Do they let teams of one or two sign up in the World Cup or do you need a full team of 11?

I have no idea, the situation's never arisen. I imagine if a team had enough injuries/suspensions they'd have to play with less than 11 men.

There's a difference though.
If you live in the USA, you have the chance to make it in the team, but if you live in a country without enough players, you don't even have that chance.

Like I said, the situation has never, and will never occur, so I don't know.

I don't care enough to debate this endlessly but if sylla/deso/whoever actually wants this to be regarded as a legitimate tron international challenge then each country should only field one team. If the USA (or anyone else) fields more than one team it obviously gives them more chance of winning. A few players from Brazil/Spain/Portugal banding together does not give them the same advantage.

If they impose this way of thinking then it seems we will have to deal with the 'well my great grandfather was half Norwegian so i'll play for Scandinavia' scenario.

Or we could all just be honest/mature enough to deal with it and carry on our lives.

EDIT:This is not singularly aimed at you INW
he said.
