Also what should i set my ping charity to... i can go from 0 to 300
Thanks
Depends on your internet connection. For any kind of (A)DSL/Cable, you can set them both to 20. Generally, check the up/downstream bitrate of your connection in kbit/s, divide them by 8, and you get the values to put there.Mkay1 wrote:What should i use as my input and output rate to under network setup... they go from 1 to 20
Rule 1: if you don't know what a setting does, leave it at the default (100).Mkay1 wrote:Also what should i set my ping charity to... i can go from 0 to 300
So with my 100 mbps connection I should set the in/out rate to 1600?Z-Man wrote:Generally, check the up/downstream bitrate of your connection in kbit/s, divide them by 8, and you get the values to put there.
Ah, I was using 1 Mb = 1024 kb...which would make 100 Mb = 12800 kB. You used 1 Mb = 1000 kb, but you said for wire speeds that's what is typically used.Jonathan wrote:You have your bits and bytes messed up.
k = 1000 or 1024 (generally 1000 for wire speeds)
M = k^2
b = bits
B = bytes = 8b
100 Mb = 12500 kB
