I'm really surprised that many people a) cannot read and b) accept flaming threads.
Friendly posts which state someone's opinion only seem to be feeding trolls... trolling, flamewars, and any other offense on forums and in-game suck and kill the fun.
I actually tried to stop the flaming in this thread with that post above (edit, pagebreak: my post on page 3).
Sorry for being a forum n00b that cannot understand why the flaming continues when trying that (and why it concentrates on that person (in this case me :/ ) then).

Oh please, stop playing the victim. Your entire post was to create issues and basically be like "boohoo I'm not signing up because cody is rude."

Whatever, like dread said cody is doing everything people wanted in this topic so there's no reason to get all buttmad. Don't wanna sign up because you dislike the organizer? Fine, don't.

No. Even though the flame levels are rather low, snarky comments like this are entirely not welcome:
hey guys guess what vov isn't signing up, guess we should all be devastated.
This is a clear case where everyone should just move on. vov doesn't want to play for personal and somewhat legitimate reasons and explained them. That needs to be accepted, maybe pondered upon, but not mocked. Likewise, Cody is the one running the tournament and is doing so benevolent-dictator-style. By all means, voice the criticism you have, but mind that the way you present it has a huge influence on whether it is taken seriously. And if you're still unhappy, don't play.

There would be a lot less complaints and rama if you said "yeah I won't modify the brackets and I'll randomize it all publicly on IRC" instead of:
Cody wrote:lul @ gonzap
Zomg gonzap im going to destroy this tournament with my evil bracket making ways!!!

Seriously, you're only 17, I actually don't talk with people under the age of 18 in a day to day basis cause I believe they're still stuck in high school drama ways. Hell i don't even talk with some 18 year olds cause they still act like they're in high school. You don't know me so how about you keep your little snot nose teeny boppin opinions to yourself. If you wanted to make sure I didn't "destroy" this tournament and you had opinions that you wanted to be made seen, then you should of worded it a bit nicer. Yeah OKAY? All I'm doing is trying to put on a tournament for the community.
Can you point out where exactly you said you were going to do it randomized in irc? All I see here is you trolling me because of my age (i'm 19, 3rd year of university, what are you? waiter on a gay club?). And loling about my requests.

Gonzap, I'm not going to sit here and play the my wiener is bigger game with you. I talked about your attitude, not your life career. So I'm dropping it cause its pointless to sit here and type a huge wall of text to you.

ANYWAYS, Rinclude will be up later in the following week, i wanna make sure everything is perfect in the configs. Server admins I will be in contact!

I suggest we rename this to Drama Tournament 2. But even then, the winner is fixed.

Get it sorted people, we shouldn't have to lock this thread, and you better not start accusing each other right now. A lot of you are responsible.

Now let's talk about the Sumo Tournament instead of calling each other names.

As Cody stated, he will do randomizations on IRC the same way Titanoboa used to, and the map is the original Sumo Bar map, as designed/used by emphasis. Let's take it from there.

totally looking foward to this.

thanks cody!

oh but could you make sure it's not laggy because that's so unfair and then i have to keep saying 'lag' because otherwise my rep will get tarnished if people think i'm just playing bad right? yeah. (*3*)

Last answer on this issue. You seemed so worried about pointing out how "childish" and "inferior" I am compared to you. It's not like I will sit here and watch you say things that are not true.

Anyway, thanks for making it how titan did, it's the right thing to do.

Well those ones then I guess. So how come the current servers use different starting positions to the tourney? emph?
they're using his 12 person zone map. Empha has different versions of sumo bar
Doh, ok thanks
I guess the 12 player version would be too laggy for a tourney

Still don't see the point of a server location preference when the final is only played in one though
