error: unknown tags in server cfg file
Ive tried running arma on 0.3 and 0.2.8 and in 0.3 it give me this error message and doesn't load the server list.in 0.2.8 it says 'Warning: unknown tag filtered name found in server cfg' i have uninstalled and reinstalled and restarted my computer. Ive been searching for a solution and cannot find one. If there is one up here already i am sorry for making the same topic but i couldn't find it. Any ideas on how to resolve this issue? Please help so i can play arma again. It was working fine a few hours ago.

Re: error: unknown tags in server cfg file
Can you find the server list and attach it here? If it doesn't load, it may be borked completely, though the message is just a regular warning you get when you switch versions and should be fine. It's called frommaster.srv and is in the same directory as user.cfg:

Re: error: unknown tags in server cfg file [resolved, sorta]
Oh i didn't change versions when this problem first happened so idk exactly why it started giving me this error but i think it fixed itself. I just let arma keep loading and sat there forever waiting and eventually it said timer hickup for 600 some seconds then loaded the server list where it says 'found servers 10, 20, 30..' so on then it froze again for a handful of minutes and displayed the servers finally. Now whenever i play it loads it just as quickly as before with no error. So idk what exactly was happening here

Re: error: unknown tags in server cfg file
Some servers are stored via DNS names, not IPs, and the client queries them all sequentially before and after talking to the masters. If a couple of the DNS queries take long, which happens from time to time, those times accumulate. The offending servers usually vanish from the master lists in a matter of hours, so the list you get after an update is usually clean.
