When searching for a domain, xxx.com will work and will search for availability fine but when xxx.armagetron.com is typed, .armagetron is ignored.
How do I get the .armagetron.com and not just .com?
Or even .armagetronad?

The "xxx" part is a subdomain of armagetronad.com. The only way to get this is if you own armagetronad.com, then you can setup as many subdomains as you would like (or however many your hosting service will allow you to).
