Yeah I wanted to play there yesterday and saw that. I think Agility is planning on multiple servers and he's working on settings for the other ones. Eventually they should all be up concurrently.Misery wrote:Ummm... What happened? Now it's some shitty high rubber server.

Yep, that. He was just trying it out temporarily, and said 'Agilitron' would be back up in a day or two.sinewav wrote:I think Agility is planning on multiple servers and he's working on settings for the other ones. Eventually they should all be up concurrently.

He told me that Scene stopped hosting for him and he's renting a server from dukevin (which he wants to use as a HR server - as always lol). But since Ai is back now we can hopefully host a european clonePhytotron wrote:Yep, that. If someone else (Durka? Sine? Compguy?) wants to get hold of the settings (to set an American version up) send me a PM and i'll take care of it. You can also contact Agility but I'm not sure how often he checks the forums - your best bet is to find him on the grid.
As for the name and the server options, we'll try to keep everything as it originally was - unless there's something you and Agility want to change (as long as it doesn't turn the server into some generic DF/HR/Sumo server...). And of course we'll credit you.
Re: Agility's Arena »FFA«
Why not just attach the settings here? I'm sure someone will pick it up (probably me).
Re: Agility's Arena »FFA«
Wasn't sure if Phytotron and Agility want that since the server was unique.
But I think they are automatically in good hands if someone wants to make a server based on them.

Yeah, those are incomplete, as you can see (e.g., no SP settings). Also, I was still tweaking a little bit. Couldn't quite settle, go figure. Those would work fine, though, if everyone liked them as-is. (Mainly, I was trying a lower base speed, with increased acceleration and deceleration; plus a little anti-adjust/180 rubber manipulation—while trying not to get too close to BiH.)
As for potential hosts, I don't know what's going on with Gene, in part because I haven't even contacted him in...<goes and looks at messages>...oh, almost two months, heh. Obviously, I'd like Shrunkland and BiH back up. I also have a server-in-waiting I developed called "Debris Field" that's pretty much rad, that I would like up. And yeah, I'd like to see "Agilitron" up as well. (And then, of course, there's still the overdue promise of an Armagoshdarn clone, heh.) So...I dunno.
And no, I have neither the (willing) financial resources nor the technical knowhow to set up any hosting myself. I can't even do ssh (that requires command-line stuff, right?). I used VNC with Swampy, and Gene set up Webmin for me, which works great for my purposes.

Yep he went out and bought a server from duke...even though I was still hosting...
Anyways I still have all the settings on file if he hasn't deleted them

Re: Agility's Arena »FFA«
Scene was hosting mine for free. I didnt want him to lose money so i told him to take the server down. I switch to dukevin just to try him. As for the server. I wanted a clan server for my clan and i dont think Agilitron shoud be branded. Thanks word for hosting a euro clone though

Sooo, I'm seeing an "Agilitron Colosseum" up, saying it's hosted in New York, but that's all. Who put it up? (And why am I only a Remote User?
) Just curious.

Re: Agility's Arena »FFA«
we didn't...
(still waiting for AI!)

Re: Agility's Arena »FFA«
I have the full settings. I will gladly put the server back up when I get home on sunday (if that's ok with agility). Or I can post them on here, whichever.

If I wasn't clear enough, it's up right now, just using the name "Agilitron Colosseum." Same settings, though. No one knows who put it up? Maybe it was Agility himself?
By the way, I don't think you really have to run anything by Agility. It was only up, what, a week? And the settings were at least as much my design. Plus, hasn't he basically endorsed anyone putting one up?

I think the same day, or day after, you made that post it changed from 'Agilitron Colosseum' to some high rubber server. And now it's just "Solstice Test Server." Make up your mind, dude.
