Re: Cody <3@forums?
Cody\_<3@forums.
As stated in settings_authentication.cfg...The backslash followed by underscore makes a literal space.
As stated in settings_authentication.cfg...
Code: Select all
# The user name is the user's full authentication name as it appears in
# your logs, with all the escapes and character encodings; the "Foo Bar@"
# user from the example above would usually appear as Foo\_Bar@, and that
# is how you need to put him there. ...

Re: Cody <3@forums?
Weird man.
Maybe try without the underscore? I don't know. Maybe the < is breaking it somehow?
Code: Select all
# Creates an account for a single player. You should restrict the username
# to ASCII characters, best lowercase letters and numbers, and avoid spaces
# and the symbols @, #, \, :, and %. They will still work, but look ugly
# in the logs and on the screen because they all need to get escaped.
# Spaces in the username, if you absolutely must have them, need to
# be quoted or escaped, the user "Foo Bar" can get an account with either
# LOCAL_USER "Foo Bar" <password>
# or
# LOCAL_USER Foo\ Bar <password>
# You can get a literal \ into a usename by putting it there twice.
# When logged in, local user accounts will appear as <user name>@ in the logs
# and on the screen, and they will have "Local" access rights by default.
Re: Cody <3@forums?
It's most likely something wrong with the forums authentication server. Tank Program will need to look into it.
I attempted to authenticate as "Cody <3@generalconsumption.org", and there was no issue.
* Response from the forums authentication server: USER_NOT_FOUND
* Response from my authority server: PASSWORD_FAIL (but if you give it a password, it succeeds)

Re: Cody <3@forums?
This is an issue with how the database has stored the user name. Either because of the transition from phpbb2 or simply it's because how phpbb does it in general, the user name is stored as "Cody <3", so that's what you have to use to login.
Re: Cody <3@forums?
