Swampland Mud Puddle
Swampland Mud Puddle
Swampland Mud Puddle is back. Look for Mud Puddle in the server list. Stats are a clean slate.

Re: Swampland Mud Puddle
Seems very smooth and stable, even with a full grid. Thank you, DLH!
Now if Shrunkland and Bebop in Harlem come back, I'll be an extremely happy camper.

I thought camping was frowned upon?Misery wrote:Seems very smooth and stable, even with a full grid. Thank you, DLH!

Camping is fun! Group of friends... A guitar. Cook on an open fire. Make s'mores. Lay under the stars and gaze at them with your sweetie. I don't see why it would be frowned upon. Fun times!

Thank you so much for bringing the mud puddle back! Many thanks to whoever is hosting it now, too.
Unfortunately my Internet connection is down for two more days, so I can't play

Well, so much for the player of 101 match wins. That's a shame. A little birdie told me he's disinclined to start over.dlh wrote:Swampland Mud Puddle is back. ... Stats are a clean slate.

Yeah, well, you guys aren't alone. Just about every time I play (or exchange PM's with someone) I'm fielding questions/comments about them. (Which is a little odd considering I hardly ever saw anyone playing them. Unless that was just my timing.) But, it's up to Gene to get them back up, whenever he gets around to it. Nudge nudge.Puppetman wrote:Thanks DLH!

(As an aside, if the above comment didn't imply it obviously enough, I'll again point out that Shrunkland and BiH have nothing to do with Mud Puddle. Never have. I know Misery is aware of that, but Puppetman and others may not be. So, like, don't bug dlh/free kill about them.

Don't hate the player, hate the entire clan.

Yeah, that guy/gal was pretty good… Top-ranked in every stat.Phytotron wrote:[…] Well, so much for the player of 101 match wins. That's a shame. A little birdie told me he's disinclined to start over.
The server has been rebranded as Mud Puddle 2, but it's mostly because I needed a new name for the server on gridstats.com. If you have a good suggestion, then let me know. And no… the server will not be called Pud Muddle (google pud …).
Also, you may have noticed the IP address changes frequently. I set up mud-puddle.dyndns.org so your bookmarks won't expire.

Hmm, "dirt clod" doesn't belong in that list.dlh wrote:Yeah, that guy/gal was pretty good… Top-ranked in every stat.Phytotron wrote:[…] Well, so much for the player of 101 match wins. That's a shame. A little birdie told me he's disinclined to start over.

I don't have the final stats data for the old Swampland Mud Puddle server. Probably about one month of data is missing.

I'm guessing Riparian Zone would be too obscure. ???

Well thought out, Kinda Slow; a biotope for a very special player community.Kinda Slow wrote:I'm guessing Riparian Zone would be too obscure. ???
But it lacks the wonderful filthy aftertaste of the original name.

Re: Swampland Mud Puddle
Too close in meaning to 'Swampland'—closer even than the actual servers are to one another. Hi-light the 'Mud Puddle' side of it instead.Kinda Slow wrote:I'm guessing Riparian Zone would be too obscure. ???
I think something simple as 'Mud Puddle Rebooted' or '... Refilled' would suffice.
You know what's strange, is there are already people insisting that "something's different...I like the old Mud Puddle settings better." The only thing that's different is it's finally stable.
