Tron with Portals!
I saw that your avatar referenced Portal, Tank ^^ Any chance we could implement it in tron? (You know, like shot_thresh 2 meaning you shoot portals that act on the rims or something.)

Portals defined in map files are certainly possible and even semi-planned; they're the cheapest way to get interesting non-euclidean spaces. Player created portals... dunno. Won't they just be used as a cheap escape method?

If that is really going to be implented, it shouldnt be used in regular lms/dm/etc matches, we should just think of a way we could transfer the portal principle to tron (maps, multiplayer ways etc)

Yeah Z-Man, I wasn't being quite too serious. I was thinking of it more as a fun way to surprise attack a def. (Think about gaining a lot of speed then using a portal to hop across the map to the enemy def's backside, and cutting him right away!)

You can make zones that teleport you when you hit them in some branch..I know it's not exactly what you mean :

wasn't that exactly what made obsi's friendlyzonepls - server so special? I just forgot all the commands

I've seen some map files for sty hack with a <Wall effect="teleport"> or something like that... never tested it though, maybe it was a lie 
With that, a predefined portal in a wall is/would be easy...
With some scripting and knowing the map, player-issued "portals" would also be possible... given a command that launches a teleport zone to the next (rim) wall in front.
Or, after that command, using a teleport_player (also sty hack command) to the other location on (rim) wall hit can implement "portals" that only one player can use.
All that is needed is some scripting
