Hi Armagetron Forums!

Post by sidewall »

Hi everybody,

I'm SideWall and I'm new here. Well I'm actually here since January.
Before you think I'm really active on Armagetron Advanced, I must say I don't play(yet) online. I do play Lan, so I know how 'THE GAME' works.
That's because I said I would only play when I was 15, and I will keep my word.
But I just wanted to say Hi to everyone so here it is: HI

Welcome to the forums and to online play (whenever you turn 15).

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”

I believe that to truly love is the ultimate expression of the will to live.

Hello everyone. I am Elana. You will find me on the Afrothunder high rubber with shooting server a lot. I do play others but i love that game. I have only just figured out this forum. I am 23 and Armagetron is the only game i really play. I have met lots of really nice people in Armagetron and it is a pleasure to play them all at Tron. . . . . kisses from Scotland. . . . x

What if she wants to get better at HR? Don't tell people to stay away from servers, it's personal preference. After all, how boring would this game be if everyone only ever played fort or sumo.................. #sideeye

okay.

Avoid servers where you are always on top. :P

That's what is making the game boring for people.

I think it would be significantly less boring without fortress, sumo, and high rubber. :P

Once I'm online I would want to play on Wildcat or Wildcat Team.
I have seen my brother playing there, and I think that's the best for me.

Hi sidewall. I respect you greatly already. I know a mistake I made, which was joining this game with a lack of a necessary maturity level. This was because I had no previous experience in communicating with others online. Treat how you act in this game VERY seriously, is my true only advice. Skill will come, but a new reputation can't. If you ever see me ingame, I will certainly give you pointers, and help you out :).

Thanks Mkay1!
I will hopefully not be that bad at playing Armagetron, but thank you anyway, I still would like to learn.
Until we meet online Mkay1! And thank you again. :D

Mkay was referring more to your personal behaviour, not your skill at playing the game. But, you haven't acted like an idiot so far (other than advocating doublebinding  ), so hopefully it won't be an issue.

I was referring to personal conduct up until my last statement. I was 14 when I started this game.

I might have been younger (12, 13?) when I first played Armagetron, but I didn't seriously start the online stuff until I was 15 or so. I think it definitely paid to have a mature outlook.

(Of course, there wasn't a practical online mode until shortly before then either...)
