The system timer is what tells the game how much time passed since the last frame. There are various ways it can be borked. For example, it can frequently be adjusted to an internet time server, and if your timer is not precise, perceived time jumps are the consequence. Another case we had in the past was with certain hardware where the High Performance Counter we use (because the standard windows timer has shoddy resolution) is completely unreliable. So:
- What CPU and motherboard chipset are you using?
- What precise Armagetronad version?
- are you overclocking?
- Of course: what Operating System?

That, according to google, is a monitor. What's the PC type?

And yeah, 0.3.0 is ancient. It always uses the High Performance Counter timer, which we later discovered is buggy on some hardware, probably including yours. Use 0.2.8.3.1 or one of the more recent trunk builds floating about, that should fix things.

I'm curious to see how this shakes out, just mentioning for now that I regularly get ~15 second timer hiccups admonishing me about my system timer, despite regularly syncing my system clock (and I'm fairly sure I have a nearly-fully-charged battery). I also experience strange split-second occurrences that might be described as lag or a freeze—although they're usually associated with a grind (use of rubber), be it mine or one nearby.

May I also suggest a more meaningful topic title.

ok 0.3 and 0.2831 same so we have ruled out armagetron as the problem

it could be that some other software is causing problems or possibly a virus / spyware, try scanning your hdd with avira http://www.avira.com and malwarebytes http://www.malwarebytes.org/

the problem could also be overclocking of the cpu, go into the bios settings and load default settings and see if that helps fix things

it could also be a hardware problem like the motherboard, its difficult to say for sure

Well i figured what was wrong. It was my router the whole time. IF you use a netgear router and you run windows you have to go to Control panel/Admin tools/service/Wireless Zero Config and press stop. This will fix the hiccup lag
