This list is 100% opinion, and will hopefully become more accurate with community feedback. These rankings also take location into account (mainly directed at US servers).

Tier 1: Z-man's, G5's
Tier 2: CT's USA, PRU, INW
Tier 3: R Kansas
Tier 4: TSP

* *Tier Explanations* *
Tier 1: These servers have always been great; they offer stable gameplay to all with manageable ping.

Tier 2: Just as playable as tier 1, there is no reason why anyone should not want to play in these servers other than their location (which shouldn't make THAT much of a difference). These servers also provide a pretty stable connection.

Tier 3: These servers may be a little sub par, or unstable; but are still usable for competitive play, client location plays a much larger part in performance on these servers.

Tier 4: These servers are the absolute last resort and will hopefully not have to be used. These servers are essentially backups.

TBD: These servers have never been used for competitive play before so nobody really knows.

The servers in each tier reflect their position in that tier(sortof). There obviously are not many servers on the list yet so it does not matter as much; but as more servers are added, it will be much more clear.

Of course, anyone putting the time, money, or both into hosting a server is greatly appreciated, please do not be offended if players think your server is not as good as Z-man's.

I have not been very active on Tron lately (especially in competitive play), so start discussing servers. Hopefully this will be a solid guide to help people who are setting the brackets for ladle or hosting other competitions.

I like all EU servers except CT LIV. I lag in every US Server.

edit:

Z-Man's crashed a few times because of the evil tournament patch but i think that's fixed now.
G5's servers are always stable.
PRU's capacity depends on the amount of traffic its hosting company has to deal with, but it's usually stable and smooth.
I don't remember ever having played in CT STO, but CT LIV was as laggy as an US server for me.

sine's server was better than R (which wasn't signed up) and INW's for me, but my ping tends to jump from 250 to 300 in all three servers and I can't attack/grind/do things i can do in an EU server. last ladle i didn't really defend, i left big gaps in my def so I didn't suicide. You can't really see that in the recordings.

That's cool, but please try to explain specifically which servers you have played in, and your experience (connection wise) in them.

So, what is wrong with the ID server? Unstable? High ping? What?

The ID servers are great for the first 8ish players or so. After that, it becomes unstable and jumpy (common in a good bt of servers i guess). Also, the quality varies with the day, but I still enjoy it
