OK, sheilou, now you know. Any time you take someone else's work, even if you modify it (perhaps especially so, since it makes the original less-obvious), you must attach a statement of credit. That's a matter of both legality and ethics. And it doesn't matter how informal a usage it is.

So, I'm still not clear: Was that model legally and freely distributed by the original creators? I would still like to use it (including a low-poly version), but would like the legalities surrounding it cleaned up.

I realise that. It's also not what I asked. Did you look at the link? I asked whether the one sheilou was presenting as his own was actually the one made by Edd, used in Tron Origins.

(With respect to Tron Origins, we know they and others who submitted moviepacks included with that game in fact did not ask for permission to reuse models and textures, but that's another, if related, subject.)

Hello again phyto. nope i didn't use any of Edd's model I don't even know him. the model I only borrowed is the recognizer and the recent lightcycle, click the link to my first post the unity web game. and everything there is originally made by me.

and yup they released the models for PUBLIC use but I think they don't want to use the models. put it in the game and SELL it. they even used the character model in halo mod.

and ok next time If I use some model that's not made by me I will put the creators name so you guys will know to whom to give the credit ^^

I don't really mind about credits anyway I'm just here to upload and share to make armagetron more fun to play. that's all :)

No, the helmet/the wheels are very different from Edd's work

Sheilou, show me the information where Disney Interactive Studios/Propaganda Games/GameStar made those (Tron: Evolution) models open for general public use. I'm having problems finding that information.

Another thing I'm wondering is...
On the Flynn cycle model, what "internal polygons" are you talking about? The only difference I see between the original and the reworked one is the lack of the player rigging left over from the conversion.

Get off it you copyright Nazis! Sheilou keep at it i love your work (whether or not it is completely yours) and by what i understand of copyright is that if you change a certain percentage of the source (3% i think) It is yours to claim so my suggestion to you is to remove the cycle models you have posted and change it enough to avoid a law suit from  Disney  (Nazis).
