No no, don't do a backup and overwrite the original files. Make a second, separate [moviepack or textures] folder, just as you would with other files. Location differs depending on OS. Much cleaner, better organised, you don't risk losing anything, and your customisations will remain if you change or upgrade (whenever that comes) your client.

That wiki page is woefully inadequate in making this point. On Macs (only OS I can speak to), it may mislead people to open up the Armagetron package itself, which one shouldn't do. Not that it'll break anything, it's just not a good idea.

Alright, so, the newer cycle's rear-end better aligns with the wall on turns, which is great. But, its scale is still rather large. Compare yours to the old, standard moviepack model to see what I mean. It would be better if it were that size. Granted, it won't show off the details as much, but that's what the bigger one is for. That one shows your work, the smaller one would be for practical gameplay, dig?

Also, the polys make it unplayable. I went into sinewav's Attack the MCP server, with all those bots. With the standard cycle I stay up at 71fps (my monitor's refresh rate; as high as it'll go with vsync enabled). But with your models (either one), it immediately drops to like 20fps, and falls. Again, I would suggest/request you cut down the polys to something comparable to the standard model, for a practical version. It won't be as good looking, but it'll be playable.

I just resized the model to small but I didn't lower the polys and I admit in servers where there's too much players it slows my game a little bit. may I know your PC spec's Phyto? I'l try to lower the poly without affecting the model I'll just update If I'm done with it.

It'll kill framerate even with just a couple players. I'm saying, go ahead and lower the quality of the model. You've already made the nice, big, showroom model. We see it; it looks good. :) Now make a road model, if you please.

We've been duped my fellow gridrunners. This model was NOT, I repeat, WAS NOT made by sheilou. This model comes straight from the PC game "Tron: Evolution". I even found a place where the models were available online for everyone to grab. I loaded them up in blender and found they are an exact match polygon for polygon. The texture is an exact match, too.

Here's the link to the models. Check yourself. But it IS a 65MB file.

Wow, very uncool. You should be ashamed of yourself, sheilou.

How about any of the stuff from his TRON LEGACY ARMAGETRON thread? How does that model compare to the one included with Tron Origins, for example?


[Still, it is a cool model in its own right. What's the legality surrounding redistribution and repurposing of it, if credit is given?]

To my fellow armgatroners sorry If I didnt clear this out from the beginning. The flynn cycle model was not made byy me fromt the post for I said 1 hour of work is fromt the editing were I removed some internal polys to make this playable in the arma and so with the recognizer but put a lot of time to make changes and slices to the models and the models were released free and can be used with any games. and I do have my own models but when I found out that they released this models for free I started using them since I really want to get the feel of the movie. And Misery thanks for clearing it out for our fellows and I think I gues I duped you a little if that is what you guys think since I didnt mention that this model was not made by me.

I'm just trying to clear everything out so again sorry for the others.

P.S Word sorry If I still can't give you my models because I've edited a lot of it and used it in my unity. Try asking misery about the models ok?

And Phyto yeah I think its very uncool but I agree very cool to the ones who originally made it ^^

Oh and yeah to my unity game I only used the lightcycle and recognizer but I do have my original lightcycle which some of you have already played. maybe. . but you can see it in the pics from the tron evolution thread and I made that unity game because I was very inspired from the movie and since I dont own a ps3 yet so I tried to make my own tron game any try to get thefeel from the game tron evolution. the environments is made by me not duped ^^.

hmm that's it I hope I didn't offense anyone. . anyway il continue to contribute as long as this is related tron ok guys? enjoy playing!

Misery I tried your link never thank you for posting it because from the site I downloaded I only have the main models 2lightcycles,recognizer,quora and flynn. but yours have 54 characters so ill check them out and i noticed this are extracted charcters. thank you for sharing the link :)

np, don't want them anymore. was it that hard to the delete the joints? lol

@Phytotron: the cycle used in tr2n was made by Edd. They asked him I think.
