G5's Ladle Server

So. I have had terrible internet lately- the past 2 months or so. I have gone to G5's Mega fort server off and on. I am pretty sure his ladle server is on the same vps.

Anyway, I hope his ladle server isn't acting as bad as his mega fort server is.

Just saying this as a for warning that his server might be bad for everyone, not just me. Maybe I should go try the other servers too.

Hmm. If we have too many server complaints Sunday night, maybe I'll set up mine for Ladle and see if it fares any better.

That is what I've heard. Sense the "rumor", it seems his servers have plummeted a bit.

Btw, I went off looking for his server and couldn't find it. I went to custom connect to it like the wiki suggests (yes, he always uses the 4534 port for ladles) and ended up in his 1v1 Sumo server. It seems G5 has not updated his server to ladle?

Just to make this clear and as official as possible: You remember the downtime we had like 3 months ago? That was for moving the server. I thought "moving" is to a new rack or the rack to another room. No, it was not. They (the hosting company) moved the whole data center to a new location. From Frankfurt (Germany) to Strasbourg (France). These cities are only 100 km away from each other and they claimed that there will be no change in bandwidth and ping ... [...] At the moment its impossible for me to get the server moved back. As most of you know, the server is for free and I have to use what there is. Maybe some day there will be another server (with another hosting company) that I can use, but dont wait for it. On "the server cant handle it" all I can say is: The server is a Xen VM on a root server (I have control over the Xen host too) with a dedicated CPU core, enough RAM (no swapping) and a 100 MBit/s connection to the data centers network. The data center claims to have > 10 GBit/s Internet connections to several ISPs. The CPU load of the Xen VM is never > 15%. So I think I have done all I could.

I just put up a TheServerPharmDE ladle server that is hosted on a dedicated server in Germany, if you want to use it for the ladle.

I just took a look at the server list and found G5's ladle server. We can use your server as a backup if word doesn't need it for their match.

It appears for all the enthusiasm we have for Fortress, we have a serious lack of enthusiasm for quality servers to play on. I hope this changes in the future.
