I was at loc's website today and I never realized how many armagetron websites there are and how many pop up over night. Then, I started to wonder which was my favorite.
For me, loc's website is my favorite because it's got everything. And, if it doesn't have something I need to see, it has a link to it. Plus, it's got a clean layout and appeals to both the noob and experienced player. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend it.

Of course, the forum webpage has a special place in my heart, lol. Maybe in third place would be Jediknight's website. When I installed my first mod. from his site, I was like whoa. It was the Matrix mod. Although, I no longer use mods or the movie pack because of performance issues.

Loc: Haha, nice jab.
I like Loc's because it is fanatically updated and has a complete list of resources. Its a great hub to everything Tron.
I no longer use the movie pack, either. I seem to be better at distinguishing between the floor and walls without it... of course, that's probably because I was using some visually kick-ass transparent walls. I'll take my game performance over the "Ooooo" effect. =) The game still looks damn awesome. I like my 55fps, too.

there is something weird with those numbers... most screens can't display anything above 70fps... *reminds me of armagetron pings*Marrow wrote:When I use freebsd, it's 211 fps and a little smoother.

favourite site? this forum

edit: just remembered i had a weird fps experience last night: 57fps but still jerking/choppy screen output (not lag as such, it happened with my own bike not others - but i had lag as well of course (as always)), so does the fps lie as well?

The fps could lie. I'm not sure. Good question.n54 wrote:there is something weird with those numbers... most screens can't display anything above 70fps... *reminds me of armagetron pings*Marrow wrote:When I use freebsd, it's 211 fps and a little smoother.

I'm using the nvidia freebsd drivers that recently came out for their geforce cards. I have a geforce 4 mx 440 and the driver made a huge difference. I notice greater performance with BZFlag as well (another game).
I learned a valuable lesson: never run gmake when playing armagetron. =) Talk about jerking screen output!
aah BZ-flag hehe i saw it at sourceforge the other day but it looked kinda rough - i'm a sucker for graphics even though i play nethack through an SSL connection from time to timeMarrow wrote:I notice greater performance with BZFlag as well (another game).

yes i was running something bigger than usual that night and it probably explains the jerking, just confuzzled the fps didn't change accordinglyMarrow wrote:I learned a valuable lesson: never run gmake when playing armagetron. =) Talk about jerking screen output!
