I was thinking of doing Bi-monthly CTF tournaments. The days could alternate between Saturday and Sunday, but that can be decided later.
Months: February, April, June, August, October, December
So 6 tournaments per year.
Organization will be improved as the tournaments go on.
If we do start to pick up a regular set of teams for seeds etc. then we could probably start the ranking system, but that would have to be implemented once these tournaments really start to get rolling.

No I did understand what you said, but a ranking system has nothing to do with when the tournament takes place. It can always be modified to when the "big" tournaments and "small" tournaments take place. Though now that I think about it I feel doing that would be unnecessary and just add complications and make the process much more tedious than it needs to be. I was merely saying that by doing a bi-monthly tournament there would be enough to keep people satisfied, but not so much that it inflates the tournament.

Well put. Excellent.

@Wind, I wouldn't be comfortable in starting to plan a ctf tourney for june yet, let alone for december. I realize that it's just a sketch you're sharing, but imo it'd be healthier to have at least 3 tourneys before setting a pattern. We can go with the ambition to be monthly or bi-monthly, but I don't think anyone of us can safely predict which will be best.

However, I can safely say that we afford having a ctf tourney in february; one month after CTF-1. Only because the first tourney went so well.
I can also assume that it could be a good idea to try having it on a saturday (same time of day though) by popular request, but that is only an assumption. Then, if the february tourney is as (or more) succesful as the january one, we can consider march as well. After that we can start worrying about april, may and june.

Do we need to use subculture for next tourneys?

EDIT: I would host one master server quick, just if admins will add their servers to this subculture.
