Numbers on Azerty key

Post by douglass »

Good afternoon,
I play Armagetron running on linux.

I have the French layout keyboard on my laptop computer. so I do not succeed to press, 1, 2 3... to do chat 13, chat 14, chat 15... because without the caps locks, 2 give é, and with the caps locks, 2 give É so I have to Shift 2 to press "2"

The problem is that when I press shift 2, armagetron seem to not understand "2" because it seem that one key give one action, and one action is possible with only 1 key.

So I tried to activate the num lock, but without success.
So how can I do chat 13, chat 14.... without changing the input control? please?

Thank you and see you on the game.

You frenchies are weird :)

Your best course of action is to remap the input: go to "Player Setup"/"Player 1 Settings"/"Input Configuration", there move to "Instant Chat 13", press enter, then the key with 1 on it, then to the one below that, press enter and the key with 2 on it, and so on.
(I suppose the F1-F12 chats work fine?)

Thank you for the answear. F1, F2... work well.
So there is no way at all to say 1, 2, 3? and we have to remap keyboard?
will do that if I have no other choise.

Ah, wait, I may have misunderstood you. I though you wanted to trigger the instant chats usually bound do 1...9 by default. For that, you need to remap; as you observed, modifiers have no effect.
If you want to just SAY '124' in chat, you'll have to hold SHIFT while you press the keys. It's the way the french keyboard layout works; Caps-Lock only has an effect on the letter keys.
