Cool. International calls: not as cool. Oh well, I guess it means I'll have more time for other things.

Why are you using that instead of Skype/Teamspeak/Mumble/etc?

Luke-Jr: nope, Netherlands. Maybe I should put that in my location field again, instead of the very informational single-number decimal representation of 127.0.0.1.

Skype and Teamspeak aren't free (you have to sign/click away your freedom to use them). Mumble is for gameplay. This is for 24/7 chat about (or not about) Armagetronmadmax wrote:Why are you using that instead of Skype/Teamspeak/Mumble/etc?

He means they aren't Free. Come with terms of use. Are not Free Open Source. (Also, don't Skype conference talks cost money?)
I don't really get the objection against Mumble, though. It looks quite general purpose to me.

Re: Armagetron hotline
Did you read the legally binding contract you signed before you could download Teamspeak? You have agreed to be subject to the laws of Germany (no matter where you live), give up your fair use rights to reverse engineer and make a backup copy, never write or share software compatible with TeamSpeak without their permission, give up all royalties due you for ideas you invent and suggest to the TeamSpeak company, and agree not to hold them accountable for any damage their software does. Skype's contract is most likely even more draconian.Lord Pein wrote:What do you mean?Luke-Jr wrote:Skype and Teamspeak aren't free (you have to sign/click away your freedom to use them).
