ok
just watched dog days
superb movie about the happening that kick-started skateboarding in the 70's
i'd love to get coverage of player's moves
and i know the community tried to get more videos on the go
but really
its tough to capture the cool
so
unless some new piece of kit has been developed
i'd like to ask
1
can players record themselves?
get some kind of screen capturing software
and record your play...
we can then cut and paste them into collages of zing play
2
can developers add a patch that records one's play
i know we have a separate recording system already
but one that is in-built to the current client
might make it easier
the ideal is to have a raw recording
a player simply marks it in their chat
and thus finding it will be easy
and then we can have all the key controls to manipulate the replay
thus getting different angles etc
we need the equivalent of photos
since most vids just don't capture the play and a still just shows some drab lines
it is like trying to capture a game of chess by snapping the board position...
we need a little more poetic licence
and thus a reduction in the technical trouble would be greatly appreciated...

hold the line
Re: two calls for recordings, for players and developers
There are a lot of factors you'd have to consider: computer capabilities, screen size, fps, internet, all that can affect the recordings when the user records themselves. You'll get more problems when you try to put the different videos together. You can be guaranteed the qualities will be different.
