Possible non critical bug?

Post by WallyWallWhackr »

I had my connection cut off last week for several days. My Armagetron installation (rc8) could not hit the server, or any game server explicitly as my lame wanna be "ISP" closed the ports.

The server list wich was stored on my machine switched all of the servers in the list to "Unreachable".

Now that I am back online, the server list has refreshed, and shows me new servers that were not previously at the top of my list. The servers which were at the top of my list are still there, but are now at the bottom of the list, still being listed as unreachable, even though selecting any of them still connects with the server.

The toggle that tries "Unreachable" servers a certain count, then quits trying perhaps? Perhaps a "reset server list" menu selection?

I dunno. Just wanted to let you know that the list doesn't fully query or update... seemingly.

Sorry, this post must have slipped my attention. It may very well be that the browser gives up pinging the servers, but does not delete them. I filed a bug report for it.
What you can do as a workaround is delete the file var/frommaster.srv. This will do the reset.

Thank you sir. I somehow feel that had I read the docs, I might have spotted a reference to this file?

Could there be a switch installed in a future release to auto-ignore kick votes? I hate typing some chat between rounds only to find that none of it was recorded due to vote screen pop ups... and that is essentially what it is. One of the most annoying "features" of the modern web browsing experience.

Thanks again, Bro...

I am beginning to wonder if WallWeaver wouldn't have been a better choice than "Whackr"... Hehehehe... ASCII ya on the grids...
