Is the 0.3 version stable enough to run as server?
I've installed it and I still have both my arms and my cat still got his hair/
Will the possible settings change from now till stable?
e.g. when I setup a server in 0.3 will it still run with the same settings?

The only way to find out is to try 
0.3 is a tad outdated, though, and may be infested with old bugs we fixed in current trunk code by now. On the other hand, trunk code can have introduced new interesting bugs. If you don't need the 0.3 or trunk specific server features (map rotation...) we recommend using 0.2.8.3.1 or ct+sty.
