internet multiplayer not working

my internet works..and all of the sudden armagetron is not connecting to internet. i click internet multiplayer and get a blank screen. why

You probably get a blank screen just like I do.
This happens when my internet connection isn't connecting at the moment.
What you need to do is wait a minute.
Usually you will get a message about a timer hickup! and the game should begin loading servers and the maser list.

Once you click on "Internet Multiplayer", how long do you wait with the blank screen before quiting?

it happend just today like an hour ago it started. everyone in my clan is having the same problem. we all cannot get on.? o.O

I've noticed DNS problems @crazy-tronners.com so that may be part of this too

but what is odd is i can ping the masters, but master 1, 3 and 5 I cannot traceroute to.


EDIT: you should still be able to custom connect if you know server IP and port

EDIT2: Pretty sure it is a DNS problem for this also

Yeah. Online games do a series of DNS lookups of servers that advertise themselves via hostnames, not IPs. If those queries take a while, you get a black screen for a bit. If you have the patience to sit it out, you should only get it once for all real situations. Sorry 'bout that, I was too lazy to use asnyc lookups or threading there.

Yeah this is really weird. Same thing happening to my internet and tron.
I fixed it by resetting my wireless router and deleting the first 20 or so lines in my user.cfg and setting them back to default (because my screen was all messed up from the process). But even so, internet is going real slow for me as well

Hrm, there have been a few times within the last [I dunno, week, maybe] when our internet has said "no." I think all after midnight EST. In the case of Arma, I got the screen telling me my [paraphrasing...] "connection might be down...yadda yadda...or the masters servers may be down." I'll check Camino and it can't connect, so I try Safari, and it can't either. Then a moment later everything will be working. We recently switched to the internet phone deal, new modem, and had wondered if they were still tinkering with our service or something. I dunno.

Is it even possible for the interwebs to go screwy on the whole, like everywhere? Was that paranoid jingo Tom Clancy right?!
