I have the ladle cfg from ladle 38 in my server now. I can switch between wst, tst, ladle, 1v1sumo, opensumo. So yes; ill put it up as a ladel server with the correct server_name and everything.

The only issue with it is when you login, it takes about 20 seconds for the login prompt to come up. I am not sure why but I need to find a solution for this.

Here is what the pings look for in a 4v4 match. Potter has sub 100 and 101 ping and he is euro; jip on the other hand...erm.

Said it performs great. This is 4v4 but I am sure it wont be much worse 6v6; idk. I say it is a great server to put up.

Titanoboa came in the server as a spectator for half a second and his ping was 101 or 104. Another great ping for euro in USA server.

It seemed pretty solid while I was in there. We'll play more in the next few weeks. I don't see a problem with using it for Ladle, you seem to have everything in order and you're easy to contact.

(2)If you fail to HAVE 4-6 players after 10mins of Ladle start then you will forfeit.
(3)If YOU(Team Capt.) ONLY SHOWED UP, then you automatically forfeit and
you now have the right to join another team but you must find a team that has less then 6 players.

This should cover everything.

Tell me what you think. I think we should vote on these rules :)
I would really like opinions on this :)

Cody, it might be better to just give us a summary of how your version is different from the current regulations and you're rationale in a succinct statement. The current regulations are the result of dozens of hours of work by 4 individuals in conference with each other. If your version requires a major overhaul, you should expect to put in at least that much effort.

TBH wasn't much change, I just thought I would make it more simple to read and understandable since some tronners had trouble last ladle finding info.

/me just tryin to help

Things that were changed are.
After the brackets have been set a Team Leader may change a maximum of two players per team. Only two players per team can be added or switched. A combination of one added and one switched is acceptable, as long as the total number of changes does not exceed two.
I got rid of this rule.
Reason: I added a couple guidelines that aloud a TL more freedom of editing and yet has the same "goal" as this rule does.
Players listed on the Challenge Board are not allowed to switch or join another team under any circumstances in the hour before opening rounds.
My guideline kinda alters this rule, they can only switch teams(team player) If they're not needed on the original team and they haven't played a valid round yet. Also they have to have a valid reason why they're no longer needed on the original team.

I Also added a few rules.

Like the new TL rule.
(3)If YOU(Team Capt.) ONLY SHOWED UP, then you automatically forfeit and
you now have the right to join another team but you must find a team that has less then 6 players.
Also I added more info about subs and players who are not on the challenge board.

I just thought I would make things easier :S

Cody I hope I speak for all of us when I say I appreciate your efforts, and as long as the rest of us meet them with respect they'll surely end up with good results, no need for the ":S" :)

Cody <3 wrote:you must find a team that has less then 6 players.
I'm not sure this^ is the optimal way of forming the rule, there'll be incidents where a team has 6 or 7 players but one or two have to leave early, etc etc (list is probably long). Let's rethink the phrasing a little?

& what happened to "players can not join a team after the quarter final stage", I liked that regulation. Or better yet striving towards the "signing up players is optional" model, as long as we can enforce that people play for one team and one team only.

(It goes without saying that we post here before updating things on the wiki, right?)

I found the current write up clear, concise and accurate. The unclarity came on whether we were expected to respect the letter or spirit of the law.

If you are going to talk about validity, then you need to set validation criteria. And then you have to be able to investigate it and determine if it's valid. This is a tall order.

I think your guidelines are a bit more restrictive than the current ones and grant freedoms in the wrong places. I also am completely against the idea of automatic forfeits in any case. If I sign up a full team, and only two people show up, I'm playing with them. Period. I remember a few ladles ago, me, Concord, and one other person joined a team teEn made on Ladle day. Neither teEn nor any other members showed up, and the 3 of us played against freelancers - and managed to stay in the game (almost won a match too). If there were rules in place to prevent that sort of thing I would be really pissed.

I'm not sure anything you've written here adds anything significant, and doesn't address any current problems. I think amending the rules to add detail about substitutes is all we need at this time.

But, you should hold onto this until we have another Ladle flame-out and we address the rules again in a big way.
