Ya, the disappearing walls really killed me. Triple binding non stop in your opponents zone and suddenly most of the tails disappear; it was more of a memorization game then a skills game when that happened. Do you think giving walls a width would solve this issue?

agreed. I like it when it requires a lot more skill/smarts to enter a kill rather than quick key hitting.

Yes, however, we made it perfectly clear (to our opponents) that we had searched the wiki, can get logs if you really want, and the rules were unclear;

Players listed on the Challenge Board are not allowed to switch or join another team under any circumstances in the hour before opening rounds.

Hence, we asked the team leader's permission to add a sub (who wasn't listed on the wiki whatsoever ~ observe loophole) to avoid confrontation and drama at a later point. They said it was fine and things continued. If it's not okay to do this, then the above rule needs to be revised. But as far as I'm concerned, having the consent of your opponent makes it fine.

The ability to add players should end during the Quarterfinals. I could imagine some player just subbing on in the finals no matter what team gets there.
That'd be funny, but no fun.

Can we have a vote on the sub issue? Although what the R people are saying is true - they asked us and we said yes (no complaints from us whatsoever!) - it'd be good to clarify the rules for future ladles. Because what concord says is exactly what happened, as far as I understand, and the potential is there for an entirely new team to play one match from the next

yeah. This ladle pointed out a clear problem where people worthy of playing on any team can wait out until the finals or semis and wait for a team to pick them up. Not saying that people would necessarily do this (who knows), but we should protect against it imo.

Maybe we can add the following?: "A team may add a maximum of 2 substitutes to replace missing players. No substitutes may be added after the quarter finals. The substitute must not have played for another team that day."

We can vote for 6v6/7v7 again if you want, even though every time we vote on that one more and more people choose 6v6. I'm reluctant to add anything about holes until someone comes up with some sizes. Are we looking for same/1.0/2.0 ? Keep in mind, small holes were voted in by a huge majority last quarter.

Why do teams need extra substitutes?

For goodness sake, you have a month to figure out who can make it, and you have 13 (or 14?) allowed names to be written on the challenge board, so you don't even have to use half of them.

If people can't get 6 people who can play long enough out of 13+ names, they shouldn't be allowed to get more on the day.

Why do teams need extra substitutes?

Hey man, relax. Not every team has a huge roster to choose from. New teams are forming all the time, and let's not forget open teams. We don't want to screw them over in favor of larger, more established teams. Also consider large clans who might not have enough players for 2 teams, but don't want to leave people out of Ladle. Those other "B-Team" players should be allowed the flexibility to register a team and play competitively.

Just a side note; I added a new server from Scene's new host. It is located in Philly and gives East Coast Americans 20-70 ping and euros 90-120 ping. I am not sure how you guys randomize the servers if you do but I would love for the Oracle team to play on that server or it to atleast be used. It is a great server and I would love for it to be used. Should be lag free for everyone.

Rule I:  Players that are listed on the Challenge Board(on a Team) He/She must
           (a)Play for that team and may not switch teams day of Ladle
               (1)If the Player is not needed to play with the original team, 
                he/she then has the right to join another team since he/she
                  did NOT play a round yet, Also he/she now has right to edit the wiki appropriately. 

Rule II: Team Captains
           (a)Can only edit THEIR team.
           (b)Can use subs in later rounds, if an original team member is not present.
               (1)Subs MUST have a valid GID and have to sign in.
               (2)For the Sub to be valid, he/she(sub) MUST not be playing for another team,
                  and HAS NOT played a round for another team.
           (c)CAN NOT play for another team once brackets are up.
               (1)Day of Ladle if his/her team does not show up, 
                  he/she has 10mins to find valid players and must register them on the roster.
               (2)If you fail to HAVE 4-6 players after 10mins of Ladle start then you will forfeit.
               (3)If YOU(Team Capt.) ONLY SHOWED UP, then you automatically forfeit and 
                  you now have the right to join another team but you must find a team that has less then 6 players.
 
Rule III: Teams
            (a)Are only valid if they have (1-2)Team Captains and (4-#) Players.
            (b)MUST BE SIGNED UP BEFORE DEADLINE.
            (c)Can NOT alter the bracket in anyway(No Team Switching, No Player Switching...)
               (1)Can only edit brackets IF its recording game score and match session or server change)

Rule IV: Players that are NOT listed on the Challenge Board.
            (a)May be used as subs.
            (b)Are aloud to be picked up as team players in opening round.
            (c)If they are added to a team, the Challenge Board HAS to show what team and who.
            (d)Must follow all above rules.

Rule V: SUBS
            (a)ARE ONLY TEMPORARY
               (1) If the player that the sub replace does not come back then the sub is now a Team Player.
            (b)Must have valid GID and must LOGIN.
            (c)Has not have played for any team day of ladle and has not have played a valid round.

This should cover everything.

Sounds good Spin. It would be nice to try it in place of TX or a TSP server. Why don't you add a the Ladle.cfg and get it up there on the master list so we can try it this month?

I think R (mostly myself) will sign up _~R~_Kansas in place of TSP KS. and, I think that's what gene wants me to do. then the TSP team can focus on TSP DE I guess.

But of course, organizers can choose not to use R kansas, I won't have any hurt feelings :P
