0.2.8.3 Alpha Blending Deathzone Fade In Problem Need Help
Okay, I can't stand it anymore. In 0.2.8.3 deathzones need to appear as soon as the map is loaded the same way walls do. It kills me so many times in racing it's ridiculous! Any way to fix this?

They do on mine. Try lowering/tweaking your display settings and performance tweaks and see if it helps.

I figured it out. You have to set Alpha Blending to OFF. Turning Alpha Blending to OFF causes a bigger problem with the text on the screen. Is it really an either/or situation or can someone help me tweak my settings?
Who the heck plays with Alpha Blending off?

There's a separate ZONE_ALPHA setting. But really, this is a problem with the racing maps. Which real world race starts right into difficult bits of the course? They all start on straight bits of the track. And they shouldn't use deathzones where walls would be perfectly adequate (and probably perform better).

ZONE_ALPHA_TOGGLE doesn't change anything
By the way, this racing isn't your basic flat track indycar race. This type of racing is like racing a timed obstacle course. You remember old Nickelodeon shows like Double-Dare, Global GUTS, or Legends of the Hidden Temple? I don't know any similar shows that Germany has/had, but yeah, climbing over things, under things, tight spaces, difficult maneuvers, etc.

I always have, and I'm sure a lot of people do. Saves a heckuvalot of framerate, leaves cycle walls completely opaque (but allows me to use translucent textures for when I want them), and makes text easier to read.apparition wrote:Who the heck plays with Alpha Blending off?

I know Concord has his alpha off, along with everything else. I turn mine off occasionally.

ZONE_ALPHA_TOGGLE probably broke on trunk.

Same happens with 0.3_8870alpha on Windows 7 x64 with ALPHA_BLEND enabled.

EDIT:ALPHA_BLEND 0 fixes it
