You should make one for the future shiny main site :)
Is that a request?

http://wiki.armagetronad.net/index.php/Console_Commands <---You can do a search for any words that relate to what you're thinking of and you'll probably find something.

During sumo, the one I use the most is DISPLAY_COLORED_NAMES_OVER_CYCLES 0 (1 to turn it back on) so all the names are white, meaning I don't have to deal with the darker names that are highlighted white, which block my view.
I appreciate your information. I've had that link before, but I'm a bit too lazy to read through it. 8)

Yes. We've been looking for a video to put on the new main site when it is ready. Right now it looks like the one I made is the best choice, but the quality is a bit low. So, if you can accomplish what I did with higher quality, then surely yours will be featured.

I actually would love to make something that could help represent Armagetron. I also really like your video; watched it a good bit ago and thought it was great. Ever since I bought a computer just for this game/recording I've wanted to make a trailer. I have even talked to word about it; I guess now is the time to step up and give it a try.

Hey, I would totally make something, but I don't have a computer good enough to capture/edit video anymore (got rid of that computer).

Yeah Pre, go for it. I like your stuff.

Then you're still part of the 'advisory commission' ;)

follow chah's advice. Another way is to type keywords into the console in your client, and mess around with settings directly in the game.

To add an example of a setting:
If you're ever planning on recording yourself in action, SHOW_OWN_NAME might be useful ^^.

I like how you keep the default moviepack/textures especially if you're recording with promotional purposes, that way new users recognize it when they try out the game. However messing around with zone settings wouldn't hurt imo!

ZONE_SEG_LENGTH is one of the key settings to make it look good.

I guess if you are going to change textures, you might as well change zone settings. However, you should always consider your audience. If this video is to entice new players, it should look "out of the box" (as in, close to default settings). You don't want to give people a bad surprise.

Wouldn't just FILTER_DARK_COLOR_NAMES do the trick?

So I take it all those Console Commands are for 0.3_alpha8367 - does anyone have a Console Command list for the latest release?

Oh, I never saw that one, thanks. I guess it all just comes down to whether you wanna see pretty names or not.
Don't hate the player, hate the entire clan.

Yeah exactly (which is why I mentioned that I like how he has the default textures).
However changing the zones' looks only requires you to type in a few words in the console, which makes it a small enough tweak imo.

Plus it will interest the average (new) user in customizing the game using the console.
