Some folks seem to believe this is some sort of absolute crime. I think that's silly. Obviously, there are instances where a thread is dead, exhausted, and/or resolved; or instances where someone is just posting for spam, attention, idiocy, whatnot. But, provided it's relevant to the thread and further contributive—especially in sections like Support and Development, but anywhere, really—I don't see what's wrong with it. Reduces redundancy and clutter.

Hi for those of you who dont know me im Brok3n been around awhile and dont use these forums much but as Nelhybel pointed out on Rd's forums (my clan) hes back and i did and IP check and it came from Raleigh, NC. I just found out that BamBam's ISP is the same as mine-> Road Runner, his location of Raleigh, NC is the same as me, and also his hostname is the same.....haha dont get this info mistaken for me XDXDXD

heres some really close matches i have. turns out he is this guy after i have traced his ip. same latitude longitude and city and state. problem solved? recheck the ip's if you want im pretty sure its him.

In explanation of Force's post: this guy just in the past few days has tried to impostor a player in ID named bullet who has been inactive for some time.
He's also tried his trick now on Rd in the past week.

Well, for whatever it's worth, on a whimsy I searched the ladderlog.txt files of Shrunkland and BiH for those IPs listed above (not for any from previous pages). The only hit I got was:

4) I don't know with any certainty that either one, which one, or if both are an "imposter [sic]." This thread is a mess.

As for Phytotron's pics from 6 months back, I would bet that's him (this imposter).

Back on topic:
Yes, if you haven't banned him from your servers, it would be appreciated if you would. He's not some sort of trouble maker whose gonna cause trouble like hacking after he's been banned. Heck, he's stupid enough to keep trying his tricks over and over with a static IP that all of us can verify. Banning him will not only make this not be a problem (is he going to apply to a clan and say he can't play on any server because he's banned?), but will hopefully teach him a life lesson that causing trouble and lying isn't rewarded with good things. Not many people have static IPs these days, let's not miss out on this opportunity...

calm down and relax.

Seems like able advice. Impostoring does suck, but there's only so much that can be done. Mostly nothing. Be a better person with the same name so that it's obvious when there's an impostor. I'm not thinking to let this thread go on much longer if it keeps up like this.

Im sort of insulted that people havent banned this guy from their servers yet. Ive seen him in both ctos and idos in the last few days. People were even trying to tell me that he doesnt impostor anymore and that I should just forgive him! This guy never changes. Follow nel's advice and ban him from your servers immediately. We dont need a player like this around, and this is a quick and easy fix to get rid of him.
