Edit: I am an idiot. We should definately postpone the ladle.

I forgot it was the fourth if July. Almost none of America will be playing, and most of europes attention will be on soccer.

Edit:spelling
But it was changed for new years. If majority of people vote for it I don't see a problem. I don't think the vote should be taken with a poll maybe have the team leaders vote. Also, soccer is more of an international sport than American Football. (who the **** watches golf?)

You can watch the World Cup and still play the Ladle. The biggest issue with July 4th for Americans is the holiday of our Independence from that wretched monarchy.

This topic seems to be more about seeing if there's an interest in changing the date. If enough people vote for a different date, the voting would be just like Ladle 34 Voting thread.

Just skip a month. It's not a big deal.

Code: Select all

World Cup = (Super Bowl*32+Masters*18+July 4th*1776)*4
and

Code: Select all

World Cup Finals = Olympics*(1+Days of Olympics/.25)^4

And what does that equation equal, Albert*?

This equation reminds me of the origional(and best, obviously) movie " How the Earth Stood Still"

Assuming you mean skip the July ladle, I second that.

It's summer time, and children don't have to deal with school right now. This being a game largely played by children, the ladle teams and clans are practicing a lot right now, hoping to progress the most over the summer.

If we hold off ladle until August, teams will not only have more time to practice during the day because of no school, but also have two months to take advantage of this time, equaling imo a pretty epic ladle.

In addition, the extra time can be used to encourage more players to form teams and play - the next ladle will most likely surpass sixteen teams regardless, and allowing two months to prepare may bring us even closer to a full 32 team bracket.

Note that I do not support making ladle a every-other-month event, but rather just skipping July. That way the August ladle becomes The Summer Ladle, a heck of an entertaining event.
Feel free to contact me here or on the grid if you would like assistance or support in beginning a relationship with Jesus Christ.

If there are teams willing, I don't see why there shouldn't be one :P Although people shouldn't forget to see if there are enough servers/admins and the brackets are done. (Just like every ladle hah, but I guess some of the regulars might not be there in the summer)

Following PsYkO's lead, I'll represent Rogue Tronners and say:

We should have a voting thread where teams vote, just like in the quarterly votes. Start it ASAP and make the deadline around June 20th.

Please back me (and PsYkO?) up on this, as it's the least chaotic way.
