It's legit. I oversaw mecca's, er, "training." Good Luck all.

And in the future, it's not necessary to make a new thread for this. Simply append it to the current Ladle thread.

It's not a bad thing at all! Those 'weak' teams will have a great time competing against players of similar skill. And, the same goes for the 'strong' teams. Isn't that ideal? I mean, it's not like we haven't talked about seeding and ranking the teams somehow in the past. Personally, I think the bracket looks great.

So the final might be a little predictable. Big deal. I think it's best to have equal match-ups spread across the majority of the rounds, and this bracket certainly does it. I can't think of a better opening round.

ideally, we would want the two best teams in the final. Considering the a team from the top bracket's best finish is a final in March 2008, in a 4-team ladle, it looks unlikely that the two best teams will meet in the final.

Weaker teams making a Semi-final for the first time is what motivates them to become strong teams. Perhaps this is a virtue of a randomized ladle.

:P C'mon, you got to admit it's kind of cool for the lower-rated teams! Everyone in the first round isn't saying " oh great, we're gonna totally loose..." or " awesome, we're gonna totally win!"

So Concord, you going to do some predictions? This would be a good Ladle to bet on since there are very few (or no) clear winners in any of the match-ups.
