Ladle with prizes?

Post by Olive »

Someone, I dont recall who, was discussing if it was possible to bind prizes to the winning of a ladle.

Since there are many ladle servers which are unused between the ladles it seemed possible to me that the winners of a ladle get admin rights at one of these servers untill the next ladle.

Comments, ideas?

Most teams already run their own servers, so that particular price idea doesn't seem to have much merit.

What would go along with "admin rights?" Because, any team that plays in the Ladle already has at least one member with TEAM_LEADER status for the month following Ladle. My team, Plus, used Ladle servers all the time for practices and skirmishes with other teams.

You want the winner to be able to change the server name and settings too? That's pretty interesting. Except, nearly every team that wins Ladle usually has their own servers already.

But it's a cool idea if someone wants to donate a server as a prize.

Good idea, but who would give a server voluntarily?

Z-man: you are partially right, however there are some teams/clans/clanmembers who don't have full admin rights.

Sine: the winners should have, imo, full control over the server, as in controlling the max_clients and map settings. The servers can be, as far as I know, easily reset anyway.

I thought the "prize" of the Ladle, according to 2020, was that this was all going to somehow save the world and bring us to anarchist utopia.
