Maybe someone* can send a mass PM to all the nominees who haven't voted yet.

18:00 GMT was a clear winner while the date voting was a more even battle.

6 People voted for the 16th, of which 2 are going to play.
6 People voted for the 23rd, of which 4 are going to play.

I'd say the 23rd wins.

-Edit- To clarify: May 23rd, 18:00 GMT

Thank you!

I'm actually hoping someone will step in and take over.
Until then, I'll do my best :D

Lizmatic: will you be there to record?

sine.wav: will you be there to commentate? I think F0R3C4S7 might be there to stream it. Not sure.

Is there anyone else who would like to record (aswell)? one could focus on the EU team, the other on the NA.

I'll be around to watch it, so commentating wouldn't be a hassle. Just find me if you need me.

Just looked at the wiki from the first page of this thread; is that the only page? Where are the rules & the actual procedure, are they all in this thread :| or somewhere else? Sorry for not reading the whole topic but it would be good if the event/tourney was on the wiki

& where was my mass pm! not many people voted in the other thread but the list looks standard anyway. except strangely gonzap is there :)

About the wiki, it looked like someone was starting to write stuff on it, so I hoped my work was done there (I basically only started the page and made a template for the nominee lists).

I hope someone would like to step in and complete the wiki if there's a need for it. For me it takes a lot of time to phrase and re-phrase stuff so it sounds like I'm smarter than I actually am (took me 5 minutes to write this post), so I haven't even tried starting adding text to the wiki page.

Yes, all the info is in these three threads. (This+the voting threads)

I edited the wiki page, but a few things are still unclear. First, we need at least 2 servers:
DDMJ wrote:The US server should be in the middle of the US like in Texas, not 5 feet from the Atlantic Ocean.
We can probably use any Ladle server as long as someone can change TEAM_MAX_PLAYERS 8. Do we really need to go through the formality of setting up special servers with their own authority for this? I think not. But we should plan in advance which ones to use (primary and backup) and make sure we have an administrator present.

The second issue deals with the playing of matches:
Flex wrote:Titanoboa: I agree of having best of 3 in both a European and North American server instead of switching servers just after 1 match. A reasonable, roughly, 90 minutes at home and away - so to speak - should be perfect. If it does indeed result in a draw, being each continent wins in their own continent or vise versa, then the team with the most rounds won or most score points won in total should decide where the final best of 3 is played at.
Whether we use rounds won or points, it is going to require someone very attentive to record this unless we can somehow get to the logs. Hopefully it won't come to a draw because that could make for a long evening.

Would it be so bad settling for a draw, though?

I have a feeling the interest, motivation and shape of players will peak somewhere in the second best-of-three, and I personally don't see the need of a tie-breaker.

(Just found it weird nobody had mentioned that 2 matches* should be fine, regardless of score)

*Edit: 2 "best-of-threes", ofcourse.

I totally agree. That's one of the things I hate about NHL Hockey is the new rule that games can't end in a tie. And if it does end in a draw, we will certainly have a rematch. :)
