North American team voting

Since we have very limited # of players, plus with some MIA... is it possible to enter in some subs that automatically get 0 votes...They can then play as subs if people don't show up?

Ok, you may nominate two persons because you asked nicely and it makes sense. :-)
They'll have 0 votes, which would make them reserves. (The first 8+2 of course get to play/sub if they show.)

It's now all up to the team to decide on positions and what not..
