ItzAcid, this is a very serious environmental threat happening right now. If the world's oceans are poisoned over the next several months, guess what? We all die in a few years. Mecca and XzL.Smart look like they're trying to find humor in the face of certain doom (I think Phytotron realized that. I almost posted in his place, actually). But you should really take some time to follow current events. This isn't a far fetched idea - The Deepwater Horizon Oil Rig in the Gulf of Mexico exploded and collapsed, and is now releasing thousands of gallons of oil into the ocean every hour. It's extremely disturbing.

As far as I know, they haven't thought of a solution yet either. Some people are talking about nuking the gap which is ridiculous, over 50% chance that goes wrong, and even makes the gap bigger or something worse.

Yes, if they don't fix this, this could very well be the end for most of us. Our last years won't be pleasant either, we'll be slowly choking to death.

Didn't really bother to see what's going on with this story but wow BP ****** up there. I doubt it's serious on a global scale but I hope they fix it and then make it all bettar.
Aparently they plugged one of the leaks already, 2 to go. That's a lot of oil to just leak into the sea, though.
