mapping mouse movement to cycle turning

Post by Goodygumdrops »

actually the mapping isn't a problem

is there a way to make this a feasible control scheme?

it seems impossible to reliably turn just once

for instance, moving the mouse just a little to the right often results in 5 or 6 right turns
Well...I did.

I don't think it's possible to make mouse control on regular axis servers work sensibly.

You like every idea. :P

Just use the mousewheel, instead. (The type with little stops on it; can't recall the term.)

If you're really handy, you use dissect a mouse and turn it into a custom controler; perhaps a rotary-wheel/paddle? Tons of plans on the Internet for those.

This multimedia controller looks promising (Griffin PowerMate). I think I'd like to get my hands on one.

Hmm, good for the original TRON and Discs of TRON, perhaps.

Now, how about an arcade-style trackball.

Yeah, I was thinking about buying it when we worked on the "Arcade" server, since those old TRON games are impossible to play well without the rotary wheel.
