dedicated server weird messages

Post by dlh »

This has happened to me before, but after a recompile it usually goes away. Its annoying because all the connected clients will see it like this. How can I fix it?

note: running Mac OS X
note 2: Server is running and is called nemo's International Lag

I think it's caused by incorrectly formatted text files, ie, in terms of dos/unix formatting. There's a lil util called dos2unix which when I run it on the language files in linux, it fixes this problem with linux dedicated servers...

LOL, forgot to tell you about this. I got that too when I tried the dedicated server using Xcode. The language files should be in the CWD.

I don't know how to fix it, but it's missing or not finding the language files. How do you run the server? If you directly run the executable, you have to run it from the installation directory. The various scripts should take care of that.
The language files are in the language subfolder there, the important ones are languages.txt and english.txt.
