How is this voting crap going to work? I remember for the AFL we had MVP votes and you just put your name after the nominated players' names...

I don't really see how this would work. There would probably be too many votes to determine what a "legit" forum account is. I have two alternatives.

1. Only have those who were nominated in that continent vote.
-Would take an average amount of time
-Would encourage team unity
-Would eliminate problem of making accounts
-Small chance people would choose clanmates, but would probably only let the best players play

2. Vote in a team captain who chooses the players.
-Would take a short amount of time
-Wouldn't encourage team unity as much
-Would eliminate problem of people making multiple accounts
-Might only let the captain's favorite players play

Legit account? Sure, let's go by post count, say at least 100. Deidara you have 19, so get posting.

See? There's a problem. Setting a "time joined" restriction doesn't work because maybe a player hasn't joined the site or maybe they just recently joined. Setting a "post" restriction doesn't work because it leaves out people like liz and apparition, who has been here for 3 years. Setting a "known" restriction would slow down the process greatly because many players aren't known by other people in armagetron and inquiries would have to be resolved every time.

And also, none of these solutions solve the problem of people who have already made multiple accounts that they've used. That's one of the reasons why I think one of my options is the best. (The first being my favorite.) I also think using this technique isn't viable because it wouldn't encourage team unity (random europeans for example might just vote for bad americans to mess things up and vice versa; setting the rule that you can only vote for your continent would further complicate things) and because it takes way too much time.

So do people think that my first option is the better than the current technique?

Oh gosh, everyone that is active on these forums know who a legit poster is, and a legit tron player (not Legit :P).

Keep signing up and nominate, people!

@owned: Yeah I kind of like your first method the best. It seems like mutual respect might guide the team together. This is a pretty complicated matter, but there are enough creative people here so a solution will surely come.

 Hey Liz, you should make a blurb for this on the competition hub. If you want, I can do it for you (if you're like, busy, or something). It's kind of a pet peeve of mine, orphaned pages.

we can always post our vote on here and any controversial votes by non-legit players can be IP checked.....IP checking isnt always 100% accurate but posting your vote on here i think is the most "protective" way....maybe stating your name, your vote, and location....idk some where along those lines since this is a continent vote...players in that continent should be able to vote for their representatives....

It seems like we can perhaps have 2 teams for each continent!

As for voting i like Owned's first suggestion. I think people that are the best judge of skills are those that are good themselves....

@Liz: I think there should be an even number of match played in each continent though so no team has an advantage of playing the extra match in their home server. Just use total aggregate points and/or time limit to decide the outcome.

Yes, saying US vs EU does a disservice to Canada. But saying NA vs EU (North America vs Europe) is a bit awkward (though I wish it wasn't). Let's not waste too much time on this, k?

Also, I made a blurb. Do we have a date in mind? How about making it an epic 8v8 battle? I think 6v6 doesn't do justice to the theme of this competition.

Nah, america really refers to USA. Americas refers to both north and south america.
