yea it might not seem fair and idk why it took them so long to sign up for, but DS have been playing in ladles for a very long time now. but only way to decide is they play aginst sp2, and if sp2 doesnt want to play the first round then DS wont play, or we could just redo the whole bracket again, but next time dont be late singing up

Speaking behalf of SP2 (with permission of course). SP2 doesn't mind if DS takes the spot. Kyle already spoke to me about this and I assumed it was settled. It's always been fair to add the last signed up team to a BYE spot (if there is any) as long as the team that's in that spot agrees to the late sign up. This should be set in the guidelines to make it clear.

That sounds reasonable. How about this verbiage:

"If your team misses the sign-up deadline, and one or more teams have a bye in the first round, then you may ask one of those teams for permission to fill the open slot."

If no one has objections, I'll add it to the wiki later. (Feel free to rewrite it if you feel you can state it better.)

That would be allowing them a choice in what team they played. The way i have the teams shuffled is by seeding them with the random script. 1,15,11,7,5,9,13,3,4,14,10,6,8,12,16,2 from bottom to top. I think. anyways highest postilion with bye would be who they would challenge for.

How about (when shuffling) naming the byes "bye1", "bye2" etc, instead of ~ or whatever you're naming them now.
bye1 is the one that the late team can fill.
(if there are 2 or more teams late, there's something wrong with the system.)

That way we don't have to rewrite the script for "bye1, bye2" (even thought that's a pretty good idea too).
