We shouldn't replace the current system, but that is a neat little utility. Is it free? Where can I get it?

EDIT: Oh wait, I see. It is free. A quick search revealed it.

Well this is kinda on topic but I don't see any harm.

INW we should use this bracket maker for the WST it's pretty simple.

Maybe Cody can rename the topic "Making Tournament Brackets" or something like that, and more comments will be on-topic. ;)

The advantage of the current system using the wiki is that it's very easy to edit the bracket as the tournament progresses. The utility above generates HTML (maybe it does more? I haven't looked), and you can't add scores. Editing the bracket after it's been generated looks like a nightmare - take a look at the source code from one of the links in the first post, belch!

But it's neat if you just need a simple, quick bracket.

The reason why we have it in IRC is so that others can see it being set. That ensures that noone just randomizes it a bunch of times for what they feel is best. again here is the code It could probably be improved, but it works and anyone can see the results. You use .randomteam in IRC, the teams name must be together, team 1 would be team_1 and have 1 space between each team. It also outputs the results here.

Ill look into it....right now, the current system being used is very organized because u can easily edit in the servers and scores...not sure if that is possible with this system Cody is showing us.

brackets need to be editable by anyone with wiki access. Unfortunately this (rather nice) web utility couldn't replace what we already have, which serves its purpose quite nobly, if I may add.

Just so everybody knows. One nice thing about the wiki brackets is as follows. You can take existing brackets, and there are tons of them, and hack them.

And by "hack," you mean simply editing the CSS properties?

I was referring to the wiki based brackets, sorry if my post was unclear. There is a site that is full of MediaWiki brackets that you can customize. If I get the chance before the Four Team Fortress Tourney, I will hack one together for it.
