That would be around the 3rd attempt to organize such a match, would be sad if this one fails just because of this thread for organization turning into an USA vs EU argument.

Wow, you were one of the first people in this topic to jump on the bandwagon and make a post basically saying how euro's complain in servers. Guess what? I see US players complaining about lag even in USA servers, even worse in EU servers.

YAWN.

Bring it on.

How can you prove this?

/me agrees! How about this! Let's go with the flow. Let's just agree that a lot of US players and Euro players complain about lag.
I have an idea.....

How about some kind of tournament that has 2 phases. First phase, players in the US and Euro players have a tournament to determine the best 8 players. Perhaps a Sumo tournament. Then the best 8 from each tournament will meet the following week to determine the best of the best....an 8v8 Fortress match. But, not just one fortress match. 3 Fortress matches. One in my Los Angeles California server. One in my German Server. And one in my Philadelphia server!

That would prove just who would be the better able to cope with lag, ping, skillz, etc. And the behavior of the participants will show who has more class! Let's just say, for the sake of argument, the Euros whip Team USA's butt. The good or poor behavior of the winners and losers will show who is the better!

TSP NY is being closed tonight, and gone forever. I challenge you to look at last ladle, and Durka's Jumbo sumo server. Oh. One other thing. I am tired of the criticism of my servers that were awesome, but turned sour when the company oversold them. It happens. I would also like to repeat something I have said many times. If you think that all TSP servers suck, do not play in any tournament that they are in.

Okay, so make the tournament happen. Your server and your website states that its there for tournaments, so, lets do USA vs Europe. If you have the time and energy for it, of course. I even offer my help for whatever you need me for. ^_^

Sounds good!

I am focused on getting stuff moved around, warsumo, 4 team fortress, and then LMS. After I get LMS running, I will do this next. As to what you can do to help, I will ask if needed!

I guess the first question about this.

What do you think about having it as a two day event....say back to back Sundays.
First Sunday is the sumo tourney to pick the team, and yes i have ideas on how to run that. Then, the 2 8 player teams duke it out the following Sunday!

To be honest, a sumo tourney is cheesy and I don't get how that decides the best FORT players. I'm thinking 3v3/4v4 and maybe even a 1v1 fort pre-tourney to set the standarts, OR.. a public vote on who are the top players for the US and EU. I actually prefer the last option.

Wow this match would be Legendary, an allstar battle between north america and euro :D

I think the only way to decide the players for each team is through a vote, we all know who the pros are :P

I am planning a "Sumo Around the World Tournament". More about this later. But, I would love to see all you crazy sumo players play in a tournament where lag is actually part of the tournament. I think that players like zurd, who live near LA California and play in German servers, or players like TheRoze, who play in some American servers with 250-300 ping will have a serious advantage!

Lag is part of the game. Unstable ping should not be part of the game. I have always enjoyed playing in servers with 300 plus ping and still trying to own!

But, let's talk about attitude. I find that the best American players tend to be less pigheaded and mean that the European ones. I don't mean towards me. Everybody seems to like me. But, I have seen way more European players in fort/sumo that seem to be mean, prideful, and spiteful, than American ones. Not that there aren't some ugly examples of idiotic and mean American players.

How about this.

Let's take away the whole Euro/American argument here.

I don't like mean, annoying, nasty, trolling, prideful, and hateful people. I can think of plenty of examples of troublemaking players on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. So, I propose this. Lets change the topic right now.

Mean players vs. Nice Players.
Sometimes even in EU Servers!

Back to topic. This would only work out good if really good players like Durka, Xyron would play in that.

If they wouldnt, i bet one or two guys would complain about the difference of the strength of the teams.
However, they would also cry about somebody who lagged them all the time. They would discuss ingame then and probably someone of any team will R-R-R-RAGEQUIT then.
Now your post compy: Totally agreed, and as you said, (well its hard to but) we should to ignore the lags and have fun in comp's tournament.

And one question at the the topic...Where should the server be located? In the middle of US and EU or just far far away...like an aussie server. Could be funny, nobody could say then that someone specific lags everyone, everyone would lag everyone then.

I hope i can see the US vs. EU i think in the next few weeks and comp's tourney as well.
